Blogmas Day 12: Present Wrapping And DIY Wrapping Paper

Hey guys,
Yesterday I tried some DIY wrapping paper and did some present wrapping and I thought I would share the DIY I decided to try with you guys,
I did actually do a DIY wrapping paper post and another DIY post last year, last year's wrapping paper DIY however was Rudolph the red nosed reindeer paper (You can find it here),
I was pretty proud with how that turned out so I decided to try a different wrapping paper DIY this year,

This year's wrapping paper DIY is a Santa style wrapping paper, I found this idea on American Greetings (You can find that article here if you want to check it out)
Anyway, let's jump into today's post then shall we,

Here is what I needed for this DIY paper,
  • Red wrapping paper
  • Black tissue paper
  • Gold washi tape
  • Scissors
  • Tape

I got everything from Hobbycraft, as you can see in the pic above though I got a pack of 5 gold washi tape rolls in different shades and different sizes, I did this so that I had different size tape if needed for different size presents

Ok, moving on to how I made the paper,

First I wrapped the first present in the red paper,

I then folded the tissue paper to the best size for the present and then wrapped the black tissue paper around the present and taped it down at the back,
(I cut each sheet of tissue paper in half before folding it as the tissue paper was bigger than I thought haha)

Finally I picked out the washi tape I wanted to use,
I then cut out pieces of the gold washi tape and stuck them down to make Santa's belt buckle

(I forgot to take step by step pics of the washi tape for this one haha)

I then did the same for the rest,
(I didn't put step by step for all the presents haha as this post would be extra long if I did, but I put it in for some more of the presents)

And that's it, it's as simple as that!

I did realise after I had wrapped all of the presents that I had actually done it slightly wrong though haha, turns out the washi tape on the top and bottom is supposed to be touching the top and bottom of the tissue paper if you know what I mean
I'm trying to decide whether I like it like this though or whether to change it to the way it should be haha, luckily if I do decide to change it the washi tape I got is removable and re-sticks

I wasn't going to wrap all present in DIY wrapping paper but then I decided why not? It looks cute and I had enough paper etc

That is all for day 12,
I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope you're enjoying blogmas so far,
Leave me a comment telling me what you think of this wrapping paper, do you think I should leave it or change it to how it should be?

Thank you for reading and I'll see you tomorrow for day 13!
